To be clear, this weblog has never professed to be oriented around the culinary arts, however, I could not resist dabbling, ever so briefly, to offer this two-part slideshow (below) where you will find a visual display of “egg-in-a-frame”. This unique dish is known by a wide variety of names including, but not limited to: toad in a hole, frog in a hole, egg in toast, eggs in a blanket, one-eyed monsters, one-eyed jacks, gas house eggs, and moon eggs.

As its various names would suggest, the dish typically consists of bread with either a circle or square cut out of the center and an egg dropped in the void. The cut-out bread portion can be toasted on the side.
