Cloud Forest Conservatory – Gardens by the Bay, Singapore

September 8, 2012

Following are some images of the .8 hectare (2 acre) Cloud Forest conservatory at Gardens by the Bay, Singapore. The structure replicates the cool, moist tropical environment found between 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) and 3,000 metres (9,800 ft) and houses some of the plant species from areas around the world that fall into this ecozone.

Below depicts the side of the vegetated “mountain” emerging from the center of the conservatory. The plants are periodically misted so as to maintain suitable moisture and humidity levels.

Below is an image of the 35 m (115 ft) tall epiphyte-clad mountain housed in the conservatory structure and the 30 m waterfall cascading from atop the mountain. You can summit the mountain via an elevator or a curving ramp/walkway.
